Atelier Modern: "Summer Playlist" Group Exhibition

  • Atelier Modern 2091 West Boston Post Road Larchmont, NY, 10538 United States (map)

Atelier Modern, winner of Best of Westchester for Art Curation for two years in a row, is hosting a group exhibition of artists this summer in an exhibition called “Summer Playlist.”

Opening reception: Saturday, August 8th, 4 - 6PM at Atelier Modern, Larchmont, NY.

Curatorial Statement: This exhibition is based on the idea that there are songs that remind us of the summer either because of the lyrics, the tempo or the time when we first heard it. For us, our summer playlist is filled with songs that tend to be high energy bops that lift our spirits. We hope to curate art this summer that echoes this idea - pieces with bold, bright colors!

I am excited to be exhibiting two works for this show — a 6 x 10 foot diptych called The Great Deep 1 & 2. This acrylic and mixed media on canvas work was showcased at my last solo museum exhibition at The Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum in Ohio. This artwork is part of my Coral Reef Series. In addition, I will be exhibiting “Coral Breeze,” a 24 x 24 inch acrylic and collage on canvas work. Each work at the show will be paired with a song that helped inspire it:

Great Deep 72”x120” paired with the song “Orinoco Flow” by Enya.

Coral Breeze 24”x24” paried with the song “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” by Olivia Dean

The Great Deep 1 & 2, acrylic and mixed media on canvas, 72 x 120 inches together (each panel 72 x 60 inches).

Coral Breeze, 24 x 24 inches, acrylic and collage on canvas.
