This event offers attendees a first look at Esterio Segura in New York: Father and Son 30 Years Later, the upcoming exhibition uniting acclaimed Cuban artist Esterio Segura with his 

son, Esterito, in a dynamic cross-generational dialogue. This show celebrates the 30th anniversary of Segura’s first New York presentation and marks Esterito’s New York debut. 

Though they share a name and lineage, their artistic voices are unmistakably distinct. Esterio Segura channels pop culture, Afro-Cuban spirituality, religious iconography, and eroticism to confront the anxieties and resilient beauty of the Cuban experience. Esterito, inspired by his father’s fearless creative ethos, distills stories from literature, cinema, music, and lived experience into pared-down compositions of essential color and form. Together, their works trace a range of emotional terrain, each generation speaking in its own visual language, while echoing shared histories. 

The event will feature a guided tour of the exhibition by the father and son followed by a panel discussion where both artists will explain their practices in further detail. Attendees will also have the first opportunity to purchase works from the exhibition before it opens to the public on April 23rd.
